Coach parking trial halted due to road sign issues

Plans for a new coach parking trial in a popular beauty spot have been temporarily halted, because workers cannot install road signs.

Gloucestershire County Council hoped to launch the scheme in Cotswolds village Bourton-on-the-Water this Easter to avoid coaches parking dangerously leading to flashpoints.

But the scheme has been halted after workers came across electrical cables under the pavement next to the area where a parking restriction sign was to be installed.

The council says it is looking at options to resolve the issue.
